Had a bad experience with 12move for my recent move. I was given a quote for 2 loads based on the no. of boxes and other bulky items that I had to move. Quote was attractive compared to another mover which gave me a higher quote based on the same amount of items to be moved. On the day of move, the team was punctual and they were pretty fast. However, one of them told me that 2 loads were impossible and he estimated at least 3.5 to 4 loads. When I told him that how could the estimation be so vastly different when I kept to the agreed no. of boxes and in fact, I didn't move my 6-seater dining set and dishwasher in the end. He said the quote could change on the day of move depending on the items. But how could it change when we didn't increase the amount of items to be moved? If the quote is so unrealistic, what's the point of giving a quote? Seems to me like a sneaky business tactic to bait unsuspecting customers (the last time I moved house using another mover, they kept to the quote so I didn't expect such thing to happen! Should have read the reviews here first). When I provided feedback to the sales guy and asked if this is the company practice, there was no response. In the end, my final bill was more than double the quote, and more than that quoted by the other mover. Besides charging me 3.5 loads instead of the estimated 2 loads, they also charged extra $70/load for no direct access to lift for lorry unloading (understandable, and mentioned in the quote, so I have no issue) and $70/load for long push to block (while this is also mentioned in the quote, it doesn't quite make sense, since if there is no direct access to lift, naturally it means they need to push a distance to reach the lift, so I don't understand why a separate charge for this). Overall though my move was done without issue, I was very disappointed with the way they grossly under-quoted and then increased the quote on the day of move, knowing you have no choice but to proceed. Very dishonest mover, not recommended.
